Licancabur-Volcano-6 days

Day 1, Santiago- San Pedro de Atacama:

Reception at Calama's airport(11-12AM) and transfer to San Pedro de Atacama(98km) crossing the Cordillera de la Sal with amazing rock formations. Lunch and briefing in San Pedro de Atacama. Skiping the strong rays of the sun take the chance to visit the Museo Arquelógico and gain an insight of the ancient cultures that inhabitated the area. Spend some time walking around the sleepy streets until 8PM when we drive into the Moon Valley to experience sundown on the desert.. Overnight in Hostería(L)

Day 2, San Pedro de Atacama:

The morning is for trekking(8km) at Valley of Mars. The track sneaks through sandstone canyons with impresive rock formations until reaching Cerro la Cruz with perfect view over the valley. Come back to San Pedro for lunch. At the evening, drive into the inmense and sparkling white Atacama Saltflat until reaching the beautiful Chaxa laggoon where flamingoes and other andean birds nest. Overnight in Hostería (B)

Day 3 to 5, Hike Volcán Licancabur:

On first day cross the border to Bolivia visiting Laguna Verde and set up Base Camp at 4.300 m. Camp 1 will be set up at 5.300 mt on the 2nd day. On third day reach the summit (5.916m), which contains the world´s highest lagoon and come down to San Pedro to overnight at the Hostería(B,L-)

Day 6, San Pedro- Antofagasta- Arica: Early transfer to the arpt. in Calama on time to take the morning(11AM) flight to Antofagasta. Connect (approx 3-4PM) with the flight to Arica and reach that same day Putre for overnight.
